Laura Sherwood began doing permanent makeup in 1992. She founded Advanced Cosmetic Techniques in Tampa in 1997, and since then has worked full time as a permanent makeup artist. Laura uses only the gentle HAND METHOD of applying permanent makeup. With this technique a special cosmetic pigment is placed just below the surface of the skin by using a gentle etching motion. This method has been in existence for over 4,000 years, and is the same technique used by Cleopatra in her quest for lasting beauty. Laura's clients come from all over the United States to take advantage of her expertise.
